The newsletter primarily contains
information about the annual conference and membership in the society.
It is published 2-3 times per year. The most recent newsletter is the November
2008 edition.
CWSS Journal
The Journal
has a focus on people, projects, information and issues of interest to
California weed management professionals. It is published two times per
year. The most recent edition is the January
2009 Journal.
Conference
Proceedings
Reports presented at the
California Weed Science Society Conference are published and printed as
a hard copy proceedings each year. They are distributed throughout most
of the United States and in a dozen foreign countries. The contents of
the proceedings are considered as applied research progress reports and
contain practical information. The 2009 proceedings are now online, you
can view them Here.
Alternatively, you can look through
past issues of the conference proceedings in the Archive. Both full collections and
individual articles are avalible for download in .pdf format.
Principles of Weed
Control, 3rd edition
This text from the CWSS
published in 2002 is essential for persons working in any area of weed
science in California. The 17 chapters offer a comprehensive guide to
all areas of weed management including nonchemical and chemical control
methods and specific integrated weed management programs for various
crops and sites that characterize California agricultural systems.
Written by weed scientists with expertise in the laboratory and in the

Aquatic and Riparian Weeds of the West
This
is practical guide to the identification and biology of submerged,
floating leaved, and emergent aquatic weeds in the Western United
States. The book contains a full description of 89 species representing
36 plant families, and another 96 plants compared as similar species.
There is at least one photograph each of 171 aquatic plant species. The
book contains quick identification tables, several keys, and an

Weeds of California
This new weed identification book has
been in the making for over six years. It is the most comprehensive
weed identification book yet produced in the United States. It contains
over 3000 color photos of infestations and whole plants as well as
close-up photos of flowers, seedlings and seeds. DiTomaso and Healy
offer comprehensive descriptions and photographs of over 750 weed
species in the book. Detailed information about seedlings, mature
plants, flowers, fruits, roots, germination and propagation
