Research Session: First Call for Papers

All weed science researchers and weed managers are invited to submit a paper to the new Research Session of the CWSS.  Abstracts will be published in the Proceedings, and in a special edition of the CWSS Newsletter.  Research papers can cover any aspect of weed science, including, but not limited to, the following: taxonomy, ecology, detection and mapping, control and management, environmental and public health aspects.  There are only five slots available for research papers in this year’s conference, so get your slot reserved early. Once the five slots are filled, the remaining research papers can be presented as posters. Please fill out the title form at the bottom of this page and mail, fax, or email to Dr. Brad Ramsdale by November 1st; abstracts are due by December 15, 2004.

Student Papers and Posters: First Call for Papers

The California Weed Science Society is having both a Student Paper Session and a Student Poster Session at its 57th annual conference. All weed science graduate and undergraduate students are invited to submit up to one paper and one poster to the Student Sessions.  Papers and Posters will be judged and prizes awarded, as described below. Abstracts will be published in the Proceedings, and in a special edition of the CWSS Newsletter.  Student papers and posters can cover any aspect of weed science, should be scientific in nature, and should not be sales or marketing tools.  There are only five slots available for student papers, but the number of student posters is unlimited.  Prizes for the three best student papers and three best student posters will be awarded as follows:  1st place: $500, 2nd place: $300, 3rd place: $200. Prizes will be awarded at the Monday Night Reception. In addition, all students who submit a paper or poster are eligible to apply for a student fee waiver, and attend the CWSS annual conference for free (see Registration Form).  Titles are due by November 1st; abstracts are due by December 15, 2004.
